The High Vibration Business

Hi there,

Firstly, I have a request. Maybe a cheeky request. But as they say up here in Scotland “Shy weans get nae sweeties.” So here is my bold request for something I’d really like.

If you’ve read my book and found it in anyway helpful, intriguing, inspiring or even revelatory, would you mind giving the book an honest review on Amazon?

I only have three so far and a few more (especially reviews with words) would help convert the people who visit the page but don’t buy. Only write what you feel is true. All comments and stars are really helpful in building a stronger presence online.

That’s it. Bold request over. Thank you.

And now on to my musings for this week…

As I’ve mentioned before, I read a lot. And my mind is always on the look out for better ways to get my ‘spiritual’ message across. Better words. Different descriptions. More interesting analogies.

I’m especially keen to get the spiritual message across to business audiences. But rather annoyingly, business audiences don’t much like the idea of spirituality in the boardroom. Or, indeed, the word ‘spiritual’ in relation to anything vaguely business-like.

Humph!

And so I’ve been thinking about the ‘spiritual’ message in a slightly different way. A way that’s inspired by energy and the vibrational quality of energy.

Shifting Your Vibrational Energy

In his book, Power vs Force, David Hawkins describes states of being in terms of ‘energy fields of consciousness’. In fact, he created a spectrum of consciousness with low vibrational energy states at one end and high vibrational energy states at the other.

He’s not alone. Others have created similar emotion / consciousness / vibrational energy spectrums. Esther Hicks created one. Ken Wilber created one. And now I’ve created one. A combination of all the others in a nice colour coded diagram;

A spectrum of vibration energy states of being; from low to high.

Take a look at the five broad categories and some of the associated emotions underneath and you’ll get a feel for what Hawkins, Hicks, Wilber and myself are trying to convey. A sense that our emotional state of being, our mood, or how we feel at any given time, is directly related to and caused by the energy within us.

If we’re in a ‘Fearful’ state of being; full of anxiety, shame, despair and / or apathy, our vibrational energy is low. We’re in the red zone. If, however, we’re in a ‘Flowing’ state; feeling optimistic, appreciative, enthusiastic, joyous and / or peaceful, our vibrational energy is high. We’re in the green zone. And if we’re somewhere in between there is a spectrum of vibrational energy that helps us identify where we are on the scale; from ‘Fearful’ to ‘Struggling’ to ‘Disengaged’ to ‘Stable’ and all the way up to ‘Flowing’.

And if all these different categories are a bit too confusing to navigate, simply notice if you’re feeling contracted (low vibrational energy) or expansive (high vibrational energy).

Aligning emotional states of being with energy feels intuitive to me. When I’m in flow, happy and enthusiastic I definitely feel energised. When I’m fearful, depressed, and overwhelmed I know I have very low energy. Does this feel intuitive to you? Think about your own sense of inner energy when you’re fearful and down versus the times you’re in flow and happy.

It makes sense, doesn’t it?

Now I want you to go a little deeper and carry out a small experiment. Think about your week last week. In which zones did you spend most of your time? How many hours on Monday were you in the ‘Fearful’ Zone? On Tuesday afternoon did you find yourself in ‘Struggling’ Zone? Was Wednesday a ‘Stable’ day? Was everything ‘Flowing’ on Thursday morning? How about Friday and the weekend? Create a picture of which vibrational states you spend your life in.

I’m not sure anyone can spend 100% of their time in the green ‘Flowing’ state. I know I can’t. But I used to spend 90% of my time in the ‘Fearful’ and ‘Struggling’ zones. I spend maybe an hour or two a week in there nowadays. But I’m glad to say that 90% of my life is spent in the ‘Stable’ and ‘Flowing’ zones. And this is a really good way of describing what the spiritual journey and the spiritual solution has done for me. It has given me a way to move my vibrational energy out of the ‘Fearful’ zone all the way up to the ‘Flowing’ zone.

That’s what spirituality is all about. Moving yourself up the vibrational zones is exactly the reason why practicing the habits of happiness on a daily basis is a good idea.

The High Vibration Business

In my book, I describe the ultimate goal of practicing the five habits as achieving spiritual happiness; a state of being best characterised by feelings of joy, freedom, wholeness, peace and fulfillment. These feelings are the very highest frequency energy levels of consciousness. If you’re spiritually happy, you have very high vibrational energy going on inside.

That’s certainly been my experience. When I fully practice all the habits of happiness I feel connected to life. I feel the full rapture of being alive. I feel optimistic. I feel excited. I feel expansive. I feel great. I feel energised. I want to change the world.

And I like this analogy. I like the fact that the feeling we get from spiritual practice can be described in terms of good energy and high vibration. It feels a very dynamic, positive, action based way of talking about spirituality. A way that may be more accepted by the business world. A way that may have more relevance to the business world.

That’s because there are three very interesting observations that fall out of being in this ‘high vibration’ state;

  1. When I’m in high vibration, I know I make good decisions. I’m able to focus on the task at hand. I have access to more creative ideas. I’m more considerate of other people’s needs. I have clarity. I’m open to other’s opinions. I’m decisive. This all adds up to me choosing a course of action that benefits everyone in a way that feels incredibly positive.

  2. When I’m in high vibration, my energy rubs off on people. I know I have a positive impact on people without me even saying anything. High vibrational energy is contagious. We’re naturally drawn to it even if we’re not fully aware of what ‘it’ is. It is hugely attractive and very appealing.

  3. When I’m in high vibration, everything just seems to flow. Life feels easy. Things just work themselves out. There’s an effortlessness and ease that feels natural and right. And most importantly, I feel great.

Based on these three observations, it seems to me that any business leader worth their salt would want to embrace and integrate high vibration qualities into their business.

Imagine a business full of high vibration people, making great decisions, spreading their infectious vibrational energy to everyone and everything they interact with and spending their working hours in a flow state, feeling great.

Who wouldn’t want to work for a boss that had high vibrational energy?

Who wouldn’t want to work in a business or trade with a business that was full of high vibration people?

Imagine the sort of culture they would have. Imagine the creative ideas they would generate and the enthusiasm they would bring in making those ideas a reality. Imagine the products they would create and the customer service they would offer. Imagine how collaborative they would be and the freedom they would feel without the politics and manipulation normal businesses have to contend with.

A high vibration business sounds like the perfect business to me. One that would naturally attract talented employees, loyal customers and the highest of reputations.

I’ve discussed the idea of the high vibration business with a handful of business leaders this week and they instantly ‘got it’. They could see what it would mean and the positive impact it could have on everyone.

But here’s the really interesting point.

Business Leaders’ New Priority

If you’re a business leader and you want to create a high vibration business, your primary purpose in life is to make sure you’re spending most of your time in that high vibration, ‘Flowing’ state. It doesn’t matter what your strategy is, who you’re dealing with that day, or what product or service you deliver. If you want a high vibration business your main job in life is to lead with high vibration in everything you do. It’s not so much that the buck stops with you. It starts with you. In your heart and in your soul.

That’s it. Everything else is secondary. Give all your attention to your state of being and everything else will fall into place. I am 100% convinced that this will lead to business and personal success on all sorts of levels. High vibration leaders and high vibration businesses bring an energy that is good for profit, good for people, and ultimately, good for planet.

I think this is fantastic. I see this high vibration idea as being a really relevant and inspiring way to talk to business people about spirituality and spiritual happiness without saying ‘spirituality’ and ‘spiritual happiness.’

This is something I’m going to spend more time exploring over the coming weeks and months. It may even be my second book in the longer term.

In the meantime, let me know what you think. Do you know of anyone who is already operating as a high vibration leader, even if they don’t realise it? Do you know any businesses that feel high vibration?

And if you know anyone who might be interested in putting the principles of high vibration into their business, please put me in touch with them. I’d love to talk to them…

…I promise I won’t mention the word ‘spirituality’.

Until next time,

Simon
