Tonto Bongo

Tonto Bongo was a Manchester club night founded and organised by Simon Farrell in the late 1990s/early 2000s. Farrell also DJed at Tonto Bongo under the name DJ Silverheels and recruited former Haçienda DJ Dave Haslam to play at the night.

Who was DJ Silverheels?

DJ Silverheels was the DJ name used by Tonto Bongo founder Simon Farrell. The name was an intentional reference to actor Jay Silverheels, famous for playing Tonto in The Lone Ranger — creating the link between the names Silverheels and Tonto Bongo.
